Hololive, the popular Japanese virtual streamer agency operated by Cover Corporation, has launched a new official project in collaboration with the globally renowned Star Wars franchise. Titled #HololiveStarWarsClub (ホロライブスターウォーズ部), the initiative features three beloved Hololive Japan talents—Inugami Korone, Shirogane Noel, and Himemori Luna—as the central figures of a special fan-driven campaign.
More than a typical promotional tie-in, this project celebrates each VTuber’s genuine passion for Star Wars, incorporating livestreams, original costumes, offline exhibitions, and interactive fan events. The streamers themselves took part in producing themed content, drawing on their personal experiences and fandom to deepen the narrative. Each member appears in custom Jedi-inspired illustrations and will lead fans through unique expressions of their love for the Star Wars universe.
The main event, a special livestream, will air on Saturday, May 3, 2025 at 7 PM JST on Korone Ch., Inugami Korone’s official YouTube channel. The program will showcase exclusive costumes, personal stories about Star Wars, collections of memorabilia, and footage from the recent Star Wars Celebration Japan 2025 event. Fans can expect an authentic, heartfelt celebration of the franchise from three VTubers who have long admired it.
Ahead of the broadcast, on April 27, Hololive’s official X (formerly Twitter) account posted a teaser clip compiling Star Wars-related moments from each member’s past streams. In the clip, Himemori Luna recalled, “I used to hum the theme as a child—I’ve been a fan for as long as I can remember. I’m honored to be part of an official collaboration.” Shirogane Noel said, “I was a fan even before I joined Hololive. I never imagined I’d be working with Star Wars officially.” Inugami Korone added, “It felt like a dream. I had to hold back my emotions because I was scared it wasn’t real. Even now, I can hardly believe it.”
The collaboration also extends into physical space through an official exhibition titled Star Wars Galaxy in SHIBUYA, running from May 4 to May 19 at Shibuya TSUTAYA in Tokyo. Life-sized panels of the three Hololive members in their Star Wars outfits will be on display. The first floor will feature immersive video installations and character statues, while the basement will host a merchandise zone with a wide array of Star Wars collectibles. Timed to coincide with Star Wars Day (May the 4th), the exhibit serves as a cultural crossover event for fans of both Hololive and the iconic sci-fi saga.
Since its debut in 1977, Star Wars has grown into a cultural juggernaut spanning films, games, novels, merchandise, and theme parks. Its fandom is deeply rooted in Japan, and collaborations like this are expected to attract new audiences and deepen engagement among younger fans.
Hololive stated that this project is just the beginning, with plans to pursue more collaborations with globally recognized IPs, positioning itself as a leader in cross-media and VTuber-integrated marketing strategies.
